A local-first AI learning companion for lesson design, assignment redesign, guided practice, and responsible AI use, across classrooms, homes, and postsecondary study.
Plan lessons, refine assignments, analyze syllabi, create rubrics, and design AI-aware learning activities that preserve student agency.
Practice with guided hints, quizzes, flashcards, reading support, and study help that keeps the learner engaged, not just producing an answer.
Create learner profiles, support homework, and help children continue learning on a shared computer without repeating onboarding.
Bring together syllabi, notes, readings, assignments, and learner profile context.
Use concise explanations, guided hints, read-aloud support, and source-grounded tutoring.
Build quizzes, flashcards, games, and adaptive question sets that avoid unnecessary repetition.
Fikira means to think deeply. The app is designed to help learners reason, practice, and build confidence without replacing their own thinking.
Fikira grew out of a collaboration between education researchers and classroom practitioners who kept returning to the same question: with so many AI tools now documented across institutions worldwide, why do most teachers, students, and families still struggle to use them in everyday learning?
The answer is partly access and partly design. Many AI tools assume strong internet, institutional licenses, technical support, and a generic learner profile. Fikira starts from a different place. It is local-first, role-aware, and built for precision learning. The app responds to a learner's grade, working level, country or curriculum context, language, confidence, and pace.
For students, Fikira is a private study companion that helps them understand difficult ideas, practice without embarrassment, and keep doing the thinking themselves. For caregivers, it offers a way to support children even when the adult does not know the subject deeply. For educators, it helps with lesson planning, differentiated materials, assessment design, and responsible AI integration.
To what extent can a carefully designed, low-resource, local-first AI learning tool, guided by explicit pedagogical rules, support meaningful learning, engagement, and self-regulated study for students who do not typically have access to premium AI tools?
This question guides early controlled pilots in Morocco and the United States. Frame the Change LAB is the home for the broader research and development behind Fikira. If you are a researcher, educator, or institution interested in studying or deploying Fikira in your community, please reach out.
Fikira is named for deep thinking. It is designed to support reasoning, metacognition, and productive struggle, not answer-copying.
The AI model can run locally on your device. Learning conversations and saved work stay on the computer by default, with optional services used only when a user chooses them.
Fikira separates actual grade from working level, supports multiple education systems, and adapts to language, confidence, role, and learner context.
Teacher tools help educators design AI use around agency, assignment redesign, and transparent classroom norms.
Fikira is built for learners, families, teachers, and institutions that need serious learning support without assuming unlimited money, connectivity, or technical infrastructure.
